Low 80A Side / Children's Table by Alvar Aalto for Artek
Designer: Alvar Aalto
Maker: Artek - Finland
Year: 1933 (More Recent Production)
Size: H 600 x D 600 x W1200
Condition Report: Good condition. Some scuffing and scratching to legs, edges and tabletop, but nothing major to note. Presents nicely.
.
This Low 80A table offers a relaxed familiarity directly inline with Alvar Aalto’s conception of versatile furniture. Constructed in Finnish birch, it holds a natural beauty and radiates warmth, ageing gracefully over time. The table top offers a white finish, an excellent contrast to the natural birch wood.
This lower version is not suitable as a dining table, but intended as a children’s table. Equally as suitable as a large side table, the 60cm height means it sits nicely next to a sofa.
Often replicated, but never matched, the quality construction, balanced proportion and warm timber finish combine into a timeless piece that has been at the forefront of contemporary style since it’s creation in 1933.
