An elegant aluminium decorative bowl, produced locally by renowned New Zealand designer Matthew Von Sturmer. Hinting at a floral form as the name implies, it’s a practical centrepiece on a table or sideboard, with generous scale and depth.
Starting his career as a jeweller, Von Sturmer quickly evolved to design larger items utilising existing casting skills on a larger scale. Decorative objects, lamps, and a range of artistic seating lead to some interesting public commissions locally in Auckland. Most recognisable to most, the sculptural public benches in both Albert Park and Western Park. Used and enjoyed by many for years on end.
Stamped MvS - NZ on the underside, this is a lovely example of his earlier object design.
