Condition Report: Great vintage condition. Some expected light wear and patina to seat and metal elements, all oiled and polished to a great standard. 2 minor dings to table edge. The protective glass top does show light scratching with age, one small chip. Presents very well overall.

An elegant and fully custom made dining set produced in 1996. Utilising an intriguing array of cast bronze and aluminium details, sweeping steel rod legs and beautifully sculptural wooden top and seats. While some forms show crossover with other works from the designer, there are unique changes to the details, materiality and proportions, likely on request of the original client. A truly unique piece of local design at a stunning scale.
Starting his career as a jeweller, Von Sturmer quickly evolved to design larger items utilising existing casting skills on a larger scale. Decorative objects, lamps, and a range of artistic seating lead to some interesting public commissions locally in Auckland. Most recognisable to most, the sculptural public benches in both Albert Park and Western Park. Used and enjoyed by many for years on end.
Signed and dated on the underside with a custom message to the original client.
