NZ$0.00
sold out

Designer: Mario Bellini

Maker: Flos [ Italy ]

Year: 1969 [ Designed ]

Size: H 410 x W 280

Condition Report: Good condition. One notable scratch to the rear of the lamp, see image below. Otherwise in great shape.

.

Originally conceived as a floor lamp in 1969, this more compact table edition was released in 2020 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the original design.

A sheet metal shade forms the body of the lamp, cleverly wrapping around to create the mass of the body and shade. Edged with a dark green rubber boarder, this is a nice aesthetic detail, while also covering the thin edges.

The same form and materiality, updated for the modern era. Noted by Bellini as resembling a monks hood, gently bowing, this unique shade shape allows for a nice glow from within without any direct line of sight to the bulb.

Flat packable, the original design was intended to be shipped as a DIY lamp kit, easily assembled at home.
