The DAR chair, often named the Eiffel chair, is a polypropylene dining chair that solved a problem for the Eames’ that plywood could previously not. A single continuous curved form that effortlessly shapes to the user. Initially manufactured in fibreglass, it was switched to polypropylene for environmental reasons, as seen in this version.

The Eames’ had a unique way of naming each piece of furniture they designed. DAR simplifies the core components of the chair into a simple code. D (dining height) A (arm chair) R (rod base).
