Oversized [ Cast Aluminium Fork ] Wall Sculpture
Maker: Unbranded [ In the manner of Curtis Jeré ]
Year: c.1975
Size: H 1180 x W 210 x D 65 mm
Condition Report: Great vintage condition. Beautifully aged natural metal patina with light surface-level scuffs inline with a 50-year-old studio piece.
.
An exceptional piece of mid-century Pop Art, this oversized solid cast aluminium fork is a striking relic from the 1970s "Giant Kitchen" design movement.
While the concept was famously pioneered under the Curtis Jeré pseudonym for Artisan House, this particular edition is a premium, unbranded mid-70s foundry reproduction. Unlike flimsy modern plastic or thin sheet-metal copies destined for short-lived retail shelves, this piece carries an immense structural weight, cast in solid aluminium.
The rear features a distinct "+" cross-slotted mounting system. Unlike the restrictive keyholes of the earliest Jeré variants, these four-way mounts allow for both vertical or horizontal mounting, or anywhere in-between.
The finish is honest, showcasing a soft, raw metallic grain that avoids high-gloss chrome artificiality. A timeless, whimsical statement object that introduces architectural texture and a distinct hint of space-age optimism to any modern space.
