Red [ Tavello ] Stool by Anna Castelli Ferrieri for Kartell
Designer: Anna Castelli Ferrieri
Maker: Kartell [ Italy ]
Year: 1987
Size: H 425 x D/W 410
Condition Report: Excellent vintage condition. very light wear with age, no fading, scratching or major scuffing.
.
The [ Tavello ] stool perfectly encapsulates the playful, bold geometries that defined Italian Postmodernism in the late 1980s. Centred around a low profile, its wide, circular injection-moulded seat is balanced by three distinctively stout legs.
What makes the Tavello particularly special is its place in the timeline of its iconic designer, Anna Castelli Ferrieri. As the co-founder of Kartell and the designer behind the famous modular Componibili storage system, Ferrieri spent decades proving that plastic could be elegant, functional, and deeply embedded in the modern home.
It was produced for only a brief period compared to her long-standing storage lines, making surviving examples, especially in this vivid, un-faded red, very rare.
