'Space' Lounge Chairs by Jehs + Laub for Fritz Hansen [ 2 Available ]
Designer: Jehs + Laub [ Markus Jehs & Jürgen Laub ]
Maker: Fritz hansen
Year: 2007
Size: H 760 x W 850
Condition Report: Good vintage condition. One chair has some visible scratching to rear and a very small hole in the upholstery. Some wear to the bases of both. Scuffing to outside edges in places. Please reach out for detailed images.
.
The Space Lounge expresses a precise balance of sculptural form and advanced material engineering. Its shell is crafted from injection-moulded, fibre-reinforced plastic, giving the chair a rigid yet lightweight structure with crisp, continuous contours.
A thin layer of front upholstery floats within the shell, adding tactile softness without disrupting the chair’s sleek silhouette.
The geometry of the seat draws from natural topographies, shallow curves that gently cradle the body, intersecting with sharper, architectural edges. This tension between organic shaping and clean, graphic lines defines the chair’s character.
The shell sits on a lacquered steel base.
Refined, minimal, and engineered for long-lasting comfort, the Space Lounge is a study in how modern materials can be shaped into a chair that is both sculptural and quietly functional.
NOTE: Price is per chair
