Vintage 'Duett' Pendant Lamp by IKEA

NZ$395.00
sold out

Designer: Bent Gantzel-Boysen

Maker: IKEA

Year: 1983

Size: H 200 x D/W 150 - 3m cable length.

Condition Report: Great vintage condition. Some very minor paint chips inline with age. Professionally rewired with a new cable. Fixed to a wall plug for easy use, or can be installed into the ceiling by an electrician with the included ceiling plate.

.

Previously the head of design at Louis Poulsen, Gantzel-Boysen began drawing ideas for Ikea towards the end of the 1970s. A great balance of previous high end lighting experience alongside the streamlined mass-production of Ikea, saw the creation of the Duett lamp in 1983. Sharing many similarities to the designers previous work at Louis Poulsen, the 6 aluminium discs that create the lamps form offer a beautiful spread of light, and an intriguing look both when in use and not.

Rewired to current standards, we’ve included a normal wall plug at the end of the cable, making this a great adjustable option within a space. Centre it around a powerpoint, and hook the cable through a more central ceiling loop to make use of a draped cable as a part of the design. We find this allows for a more flexible lighting solution, with the pendant being moveable should furniture or setting shift over time. Should you want a more permanent fixing, the lamp also includes the original matching ceiling plate.

Vintage or new, let us know if you'd like us to track down another one.
